Okemo turned to Four Nine to revitalize their branding and marketing strategy, aiming to strengthen their position as Vermont’s premier family resort. For more than 40 years, Okemo has been renowned for its family-friendly atmosphere and outdoor adventures. However, as the competitive landscape continued to evolve, Okemo’s management recognized the need to adapt. To stay ahead of both local competitors and larger destination resorts, the resort’s leadership understood that updating their target audience, refreshing their messaging, and refining their creative direction were key to remaining relevant to today’s travelers.

Four Nine took a hands-on, collaborative approach to tackle these challenges. We led Okemo’s key staff and ownership through a comprehensive series of brand exploration workshops, consumer message testing, and in-depth creative strategy sessions. Our goal was to uncover the unique qualities that made Okemo special, understand the emotional connections guests had with the resort, and identify fresh opportunities for growth.

Following an extensive immersion into Okemo’s brand and market, we refined their messaging to more effectively capture their essence and appeal to a broader audience. We then crafted marketing and advertising campaigns for the 2016/2017, 2017/2018, and 2018/2019 seasons, all designed to honor the resort’s rich history while highlighting its forward-thinking approach. These campaigns aimed to connect with both loyal, returning guests and new visitors, reinforcing Okemo’s status as the go-to family destination for both thrilling adventures and relaxing escapes in Vermont.
