Every good plan needs a road map and a clear set of goals. To begin the process, we’ll conduct a jump off meeting and complete a project brief that outlines key deliverables, deadlines and targets to guide the development and timeline for this project.
This in person meeting will help establish an understanding of your vision and desired results, we’ll review examples of branded work, your brand standards guide and develop a work flow / process between your staff and our team of designers. Within this phase we’ll outline:
• Project Leaders and Team Members; including preferred method of communication and contact info
• Details and milestones
• General content outline
• Specific project requirements
• Gather assets
• Review samples and reference materials
During the initial pagination and content direction phase we will create an overarching list of graphics, illustrations and content to be included within the document. We will also outline a general editorial structure for the document and discuss potential creative directions and ideas for the major sections of the document. During this discussion we’ll review examples of similar documents that may act as inspiration and / or further guide the design and development.
Following a deliverable & project calendar we will now begin to design, layout and produce the document in sections. Starting with the front cover, and key interior pages we will layout and design the documents overall pagination and visual direction. You will be provided initial design comps to choose from. Once a design direction is selected, revisions will be provided to attain the final design.
Upon your feedback and approval we will proceed with revisions to cover and interior pages and the creation of secondary pages and design elements to build out the rest of the piece.
Following the production calendar outlined in the planning phase Four Nine will continue to design and produce the document in phases. We will build out all remaining pages and input all copy and content.
Included in this phase will be the design of all required info-graphics, icons, charts and photo treatments.
Each phase outlined above will include reviews with the client as well as proofing rounds to ensure accuracy and an error-free final document. Upon the final round of production, the final document will be proofed and signed off on by client prior to delivery of final print files.
Once complete and approved, Four Nine will package all files in the appropriate / requested formats. We typically provide print ready PDF’s and or packaged InDesign files but if you or your printer prefer a different format please let us know and we will accommodate your needs.
Upon client request, Four Nine will procure a print house, provide production / printing estimates and oversee all production management. If printing is not requested, we assume the client will take on the responsibility of overseeing production — in that case, final files will be delivered according to client needs.
