Benitos, the beloved Vermont-based hot sauce brand, came to us seeking an eCommerce solution to take their sauces online. Having previously collaborated on label design, we were already familiar with the distinct and flavorful personality of their brand. This deep understanding set the stage for the development of an engaging, functional online store.
We started the project by holding a tailored leadership meeting to clearly define Benitos' brand vision. From there, we analyzed a variety of competitor websites from hot sauce producers both locally in Vermont and across the country. The goal was to craft a digital experience that not only showcased Benitos' unique hot sauce offerings but also captured their commitment to high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
We focused on creating a streamlined content architecture that would clearly communicate the core values of the Benitos brand. Our design emphasized large-format imagery to highlight the vibrant, handmade quality of their sauces, ensuring that the products would truly pop on the screen. The website layout was crafted to give users a seamless browsing experience, guiding them easily to discover and purchase the sauces that best suit their tastes.
Beyond the design, we built the site on a solid WordPress platform integrated with WooCommerce for an intuitive eCommerce experience. By implementing strong SEO practices, we ensured that the site would rank well for key search terms related to hot sauce, Vermont-made products, and artisan sauces, helping Benitos attract a wider audience both locally and nationally.
